Gallstones are hardened deposits of digestive fluid that form in your gallbladder. While many remain asymptomatic, neglecting recurring gallbladder pain can lead to severe life-threatening complications such as acute cholecystitis, obstructive jaundice, or acute pancreatitis.

1. Warning Symptoms You Must Not Ignore

  • Severe, sudden pain in the upper right abdomen after fatty meals
  • Pain radiating to the right shoulder or back
  • Nausea, vomiting, and high fever with chills
  • Yellowish discoloration of eyes or skin (jaundice)

2. Why Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy is the Gold Standard

Medications cannot dissolve calcified gallstones. Laparoscopic surgery involves 3 to 4 tiny keyhole incisions (5mm to 10mm) through which a micro-camera and surgical instruments remove the diseased gallbladder safely. Patients walk the same evening and are discharged within 24 to 48 hours with minimal scarring.
